Overview

DeviceWorks?Note
SATA and PATA Yes Incompatibility in Bios can cause Freezes
ESATA Partially Doesn't detect the drive unless you reboot with the device on. Seems to be a general Linux issue, not hardware specific.
Network Yes One NIC fully working with skge. Other NIC only tested with install CD and not working.
Sound Yes No issues.
USB Yes Works great. Can access external drive at approx 25 MB/sec
Firewire Yes Tested with Panasonic mini-dv cam and dvgrab
Hardware Sensors Untested

Installation Issues

Boot CD

Failed to get any of the amd64 2008.0 beta CDs to boot properly. Using amd64 2007.1 minimal boots but with a 2008.0 beta stage3 install downloaded at install time. Kernel version 2.6.25-gentoo-r6.

NIC

The sky2 module is auto loaded for one of the NICs and doesn't appear to function correctly. The other NIC uses skge and functions properly after a call to modprobe.

Intel ICH10R Southbrige RAID

Drive Xpert

Setup in the bios is easy. Had trouble from the install cd accessing the disks an gave up early. Might need software support of some kind.

PATA

Works using the pata_marvell although performance isn't great. Had to enable the Drive Xpert in the bios. Not sure if this was coincidence or a hard requirement. Some troubleshoutings may occur with vanilla kernel lower than 2.6.27_rc6 (non detection of IDE drives). Problem is solved since this version of the vanilla-kernel.
