When emerging, This is an error that is produced when an ebuild's digest is incorrect. Why does this happen? Most of the time a developer simply screwed up, or there was a technical problem somewhere. But it MIGHT also be a sign that someone has compromised at least one of Gentoo's mirrors, so BE CAREFUL!

The easiest thing to do is simply wait a few hours, delete the offending file, run emerge --sync, and try again. If that doesn't work, file a bug.

You can also try to fix this yourself:

ebuild PATH_TO_EBUILD digest

But be aware that you MIGHT be allowing some evil hacker to compromise YOUR system that way!
