Editing ~/.bashrc

When I'm writing a command bigger than the console size it wraps the text to the same line that I was writing on. How do I prevent this?

Code:

$echo "shopt -s checkwinsize" >> ~/.bashrc

$source ~/.bashrc

Making the change Global

Since this is so lame, you will probably want to add it for all users.

As root type:

Code:

-#echo "shopt -s checkwinsize" >> /etc/profile

-#source /etc/profile

Another cause of this problem involves improperly terminating the control codes in the bash prompt. I use "\[\e[0m\]" to terminate the effect of any strange codes after the prompt.
