(1) This laptop has a Phoenix BIOS, which according to the information on this site means that it was manufactured in Taiwan, therefore this laptop is not a true Toshiba laptop.
Bottom line: you cannot use the utilities.

(2) The PCI-ID for the ATI SATA Controller is 0x4379. If you take a look at the enabled driver source code(drivers/scsi/sata_sil.c), you'll see it defined in a data structure.

Known Issues

Hard drive randomly locks up for 30 seconds or more. Messages in the logfile point to the sata_sil driver.
